Mulready Caricatures 1840: Southgate Caricature No. 2, a used example mailed from Dublin to Fort Granite, Baltinglass (the addressee, Miss Saunders was destined to receive no less than 5 caricatures: Southagte 1+2 and Spooner's 4, 6 and 7) and struck with framed Dublin datestamp in red (25 June 1840) and manuscript '1' of prepayment in red. Illustrated by Jarvis, Bodily & Hahn on page 46. One of just 37 examples recorded in used condition and the earliest recorded Irish usage. Attractive and rare. Cert.
