1704 (July 30): Entire letter from Aix La Chapelle to Nancy, struck on entry at Lille with superb strike of "DE.COLOGNE" handstamp in black (Van der Linden fig. 944 = 10 pts.) in use during the War of the Spanish Succession. Rated '28' (sols) in manuscript on front panel. The letter with weak folds and unobtrusive spike hole in centre but of great rarity, there being but two examples of this marking recorded. Cert.
