1887c: Unadopted Essays and Die Proofs (10) with vignette showing hands clasped under a Liberty Cap, with two Master Die Proofs with Duty plates blank, one printed in black on pink and the other on white paper; together with completed Die Proof Essays for the proposed 2 c., 4 c., 6 c., 8 c., 12 c., 15 c., 24 c. and 90 c. values all in black on thin white wove paper. Believed to have been produced by the Casa de Moneda in an attempt to gain the printing contract from the South American Bank Note Company.
