1867/70: 6 d. blackish-brown, two examples used on Officers rate cover from Galle to Devonport, endorsed 'via Southampton' and addressed to a Captain in the Royal Engineers; neatly tied by 'B' obliterator. Reverse with GALLE / PAID cds in red (Nov 17) and Devonport arrival cds (Dec 18) in black. An attractive and scarce cover.
