1857: 6 d. purple-brown on blued paper, a fine used example with ample to large margins all round, in a rich deep shade, tied to 1858 cover endorsed 'via Southampton' to London, by grid obliterator in black. Reverse with circular CALTURA / POST NOT PAID datestamp in black with manuscript "11 July 1858" inserted and GALLE STEAMER LETTER datestamp In black. Obverse with 'London / Paid' arrival cds (Aug 22) in red. Closed cover tear at base, a fine and rare usage of the 'Number One' on letter. Cert.
