Used in Constantinople 1881: Great Britain 2½ d. blue, pl. 21, used example on cover with 'British Embassy, Constantinople' imprint on reverse, tied by "C" obliterator with fine BRITISH POST OFFICE / CONSTANTINOPLE cds in red alongside (June 28). The cover addressed to "His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, Marlborough House, London", the future King Edward VII. Reverse with London cds of receipt (July 4). Small opening tears at top but charming and unusual.
