1856-1876: Group of four examples with specimen overprints in black on stamps from the surface printed issues. Comprising 1856 4 d. pale carmine with 'SPECIMEN' (Type II) vertically (pin hole), 1867 10 d. pale-brown plate 1 lettered DL 'SPECIMEN' (Type 9) horizontally (perf. imperfections), 1876 2½ d. rosy-mauve plate 10 block of four lettered DC-DD / EC-ED 'SPECIMEN' (Type 9) horizontally to each stamp (gum wrinkling - lower pair unmounted) and 1876 Colour Trial 8 d. orange-yellow plate 1 lettered TF imperforate bottom corner marginal 'SPECIMEN' (Type 11) diagonally has some creasing. All have large part of og. and in the main fine fresh colour. A scarce and valuable selection Gi = £ 2'855.
