1861 (Jan 23): Ornamental envelope with embossed edges from Rotterdam to Mainz, bearing horizontal pair 1852 Willem 15 c. orange, a fine multiple with good to large margins, tied by lightly oily FRANCO - halfrond datestamp of Rotterdam, with "Franco" handstamp in addition at right. Reverse struck by Prussian framed "EMMERICH - OBERHAUSEN" T.P.O. datestamp and distribution cachet, a credit of '3' silbergroschen was noted in manuscript. An appealing valentine to the Thurn & Taxis area, signed Pfenninger; cert. A. Louis BPP (1994).
