Outgoing to Russia 1861 (Nov 7): Partially prepaid entire letter from Patras to Taganrog, bearing 1861 Paris print 10 l. orange on blue and 40 l. mauve on blue, this with 'Open Cross' variety, fresh colours and large to huge margins, tied by '9' numeral of Patras with matching PATRAI despatch cds in black and Greek PED (Paid to Foreign Destination) in red alongside, ATHENS transit cds on reverse. Two file folds, one through the 40 lepta adhesive, nevertheless a very early franked entire in the second month of the Greek adhesives, obverse shows '30' (kopeks) due upon receipt for the part of the journey from Constantinople.
