1934 (Dec. 19): Amelia Earhart envelope No. 46/50 of her Trans-Atlantic Solo Record Flight New Foundland to Ireland 1932 (May 20/21), franked with Air Mail 5 c. tied by New York Grand Central duplex cancellation May 13, violet special cachet, additionally franked on arrival with GB 1½ d. with Londonderry cancellation (May 23), signed by the Avaitrix at lower left. Envelope returned to USA 1934 and saved from the American Airline crash while landing at Buffalo N.Y., December 19,1934 en route from Newark to Chicago with special cachet on reverse: "DAMAGE DUE TO / AIR MAIL INTERRUPTION / AT / BUFFALO NY DEC 19 1934" in violet.
