1851 (July 9): Entire letter to Bordeaux endorsed "p. James Alexander" struck on despatch with "♚ / MAURITIUS / GPO" datestamp with circular "PAID" below and unframed "Ship Letter" in black. Struck with fine "DEAL / SHIP LETTER" in blue (Robertson S8) and rated '8d.' in manuscript alongside framed "COLONIES / &c. ART. 13" in red. Charged with handstruck '15' décimes due mark on arrival in Bordeaux (Oct 14). Slight faults, mostly internal, but scarce.
