Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 3

1871: Cérès 20 c. blue (2) flanking 40 c. orange, close to large margins all round, used on 1871 entire letter endorsed "Mauritius via Aden" tied by dotted "INDE" lozenge in black. "INDE / PONDICHERY" despatch cds alongside (Dec 31) in black and red 'PD'. Carried on the French steamer "Donnai" from Galle to Aden and thence on the "Danube" to Mauritius. Reverse with fair 'Ligne T' cds (Feb 4) and Mauritius arrival (Feb 20) in blue. A charming and scarce entire.
