1840: 2 d. deep full blue, pl. 1, lettered PC-PE, a used horizontal strip of three, with good to large margins all round but first stamp shaved at left and the strip creased between PC and PD, cancelled by "WOTTON-UNDER-EDGE" Maltese Crosses in black. An extraordinarily rare usage of this Cross on the 2 d. value - the largest recorded multiple of the 2 d. value with this rare Maltese Cross and most attractive.
