1855: 2 d. green, wmk. Star, a fine large margined example overlapped by 4 d. blue, just touched to large margins, used on 1857 entire letter from Hobart to Paris endorsed "Simla, Overland Mail via Marseilles", cancelled in black by '61' numeral obliterator - the maiden voyage of the European & Australia Royal Mail "Simla". Circular GENERAL POST OFFICE / HOBART TOWN / ♚" datestamp (Feb 11). The adhesives also tied by circular "AUSTRALIE V. SUEZ / MARSEILLE" datestamp (April 3) in red, charged with handstruck '10' décimes marking in black. Some file folds not detracting from the appearance and could be refolded at left, a rare centire.
