Recess by Perkins Bacon 1859: 1 s. 9 d. green, wmk. Star, privately perforated 7½, an unused example of fine colour with the perforations touching the design as found in the other known example (Hackmey, sale 1, lot 87, described as unique); unused without gum. The perforations are now believed to be made by a private company to facilitate handling rather than being of Trial status. Extremely rare, one of just two examples recorded. Cert.
