1860/63: 4 d. rose used on 1862 entire letter to France endorsed "per Nepaul via Suez", the cover originally struck with rare oval "INSUFFICIENTLY / PREPAID" in red and the stamp applied over the handstamp and tied by "B53" obliterator in black. Mauritius despatch cds verso (Oct 6) with framed Accountancy marking "GB / 1F 62 4/10c." in black applied on despatch. Carried on the French steamer "Nepaul" to Suez via Aden. Charged at single rate '9' décimes due on arrival (Nov 4) in Chalons sur Saône. Adehesive with rounded corner but a most unusual entire.
