1849: Entire letter from Port Louis to Bordeaux endorsed "p. Packet Protector" via the Cape showing "MAURITIUS / POST OFFICE" despatch cds in black (April 18), landed with "BRISTOL / SHIP LETTER" in black (Robertson fig. S11). London cds (Aug 9) and struck with framed "COLONIES / &c. ART.13" in red and '8' pence British credit in manuscript. Thence via Boulogne and charged '15' décimes' due on arrival. A scarce entire.
