1853: Cover from Menton to Genova, Italy bearing Napoléon imperf. 40 c. orange on straw, a fine and fresh example with fair to large margins, tied by clear Petits Chiffres '4220' numeral lozenge, matching despatch cds (July 26, 61) and framed PD in red alongside, reverse with VENTIMIGLIA transit and arrival cds. Light horizontal and vertical file fold well away from stamp and postmarks not distracting from the attractiveness of this cover.
