1860: Cover from Caen to Bordighera, Italy, bearing Napoléon laureated 20 c. blue type II, a gorgeous left margined horizontal pair with large to enormous margins incl. parts of the upper neighbouring adhesives, tied by light Petits Chiffres '578' lozenge, matching despatch cds (Nov 16, 61) and framed PD in red alongside. Reverse with several French ambulants, Paris and Ventimiglia transit as well as BORDIGHERA arrival (Nov 19) cds's. An appealing presentation of the 40 centimes rate to Italy.
