1863 (May): 4 d. bright rose, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 12½, a used example on 1863 cover to Cambridge, Mass., USA tied by Nassau "A05" obliterator in black with "New York Ship Letter / 5" charge marking alongside in blue (June 12). Reverse with double arc 'Bahmas' datestamp of despatch (June 6). Docketing of receipt at left of cover, slight trim to envelope at right but a fine and early usage of this adhesive.
