1882: 25 st. blue and pale blue and Turkey 1 pi. blue and light green Empire Issue used as postage due on foreign letter dated Feb.1886 from Plovdiv to Constantinople, Turkey; franked at the single foreign rate. Due to the annexation of Eastern Roumelia by Bulgaria, Turkey refused to accept mail as franked from formerly "Eastern Roumelia" and levied postage due. The 25 st. stamp is cancelled with the bilingual Plovdiv double circle in blue, the 1 pi. is cancelled with the all arabic "KADIKÖY" in blue and a further cancel in black. Postage due handstamp "T " in circle is applied on the front, two Turkish arrival marks on reverse. The cover is trimmed on the right, the 25 st. stamp slightly damaged. An important cover. Opinions Todd AEIP (2015) and Penev (2021).
