PAN PACIFIC CLIPPER AIRMAIL COVERS collection circa 1920's/30's of over 570 airmail covers all housed in 16 loose leaf binders, formed by an American collector in the 1970's/80's relating to the inauguration of airlines in the USA and their development throughout the Americas & the Pacific, replete with notes, articles, cutting & photos etc. a work of true indulgence. Starting with reference to the Wright brothers and the WWI with A.E.F (8 items), 1925 flight by airship Los Angeles to Puerto Rico. Early internal government mail and contract flights with good frankings, 1928 Lindbergh goodwill tour, much Commonwealth with Bahamas, Bermuda, B. Honduras amongst others. China, with La Porte, R.O.D Sullivan, Kelly Rogers, Fred Clark and others. An extremely comprehensive collection for this period with dozens of signed covers and finishing in 1947 with 37 airmail test covers. Literally a who's who of international commercial flying up to 1940 and then resuming in the immediate post war period. With so many covers the collection would be ideal for breaking down for resale purposes or expanding into more aspects from the period. Condition is generally fine throughout and would be difficult to replicate. A superb lot offered completely intact.
