1947 cover sent from Hong Kong to England via the Portland Flying Boat which crashed at the Bahrain Marine Air Base on August 23, 1947, with "Damaged by Sea Water" handstamp, franked with 30c and 50c of Hong Kong, v.f. The plane was operated by the British Overseas Airways Corporation and was travelling from Hong Kong to London via Karachi and Bahrain and only a small part of the mail was recovered
