INAUGURAL AUCTION

Yizhan Memo. 1907 (4th day 12th month 32nd year = January). Yizhan Memo for provision of one horse from Qixian to Jiexiu in Shanxi province, for conveyance of official mail from the Cabinet to the Viceroy of Kuldja. Yizhan station were relay stations each approx 30 li (15 km) apart where horses are changed while the courier carried on until dusk. The courier needed this Memo to invoke the right to carrier horse.
