1872/1873, France, 10 C brown on rose and 30 brown 'Cérès', mixed franking on entire letter from Saloniki to Constantinople. The letter with sender's message dated 'Salonich, January 1875', has obviously been dropped into the mailbox and the adhesives subsequently tied on arrival with GC '5083' from Constantinople. On the frontside oval handstamp 'BM' in black, arrival cds Constantinople/Turqie, 7.JANV.75, on reverse. F/VF condition. Very unusual mail from French P.O. Levant.
