1883, 4 C. pale brown "Queen Victoria", vertical pair used on cover from Singapore on Aug 21st 1883 to Varazze, Italy tied by SINGAPORE circular handstamp in black with "Singapore / Paid" cds in red adjacent (Aug 14) and with superb circular cachet of "Peninsular And Oriental Steam Navigation Co." at left in red. Slitted twice for disinfection on face panel with reverse showing Varazze arrival cds. Slightly aged and perfs. touched at top but an appealing cover. Illustrated in Edition D'Or XLV on page 71.
