1849/50, 40 C. Ceres orange fonce, horizontal strip of five, lower margin with sheet corner (coin de fenille). Combination of three regular stamps and two with both positions varities of "4 with retouching" (Positions 146+147). Fresh with much original thick brownish gum.
Remarkable varity of the french classic period, UNIQUE exhibition item. Illustrated in Yvert 2000, provenance: ex Ferrari (sale 11), ex Hind, ex Rothschild, ex La Fayette (2003). ÷ 1849/50, 40 C. orange fonce. Bande de 5 presentant les deux "4" retouches a gauche, filet entame sur le timbre central, ne touchant pas la variete. Coin de feuille, gomme brunatre.
Les deux "4" retouches sont en case 146 + 147, se tenant a trois timbres normaux en case 148, 149 et 150. Seule bande connue, il n'existerait qu'une autre paire neuve. La bande realisa le prix de 25.000 Frs a la Vente Ferrari et 550 $ chez Hind. Piece reproduite dans le catalogue Yvert Specialise 2000.
