1904 10c. orange surcharged "CANAL ZONE" in violet-blue, used on cover from Cristóbal to London, tied by "CRISTOBAL/JUN/2.../1904" c.d.s., New York '6 July' transit dater as well as London '14 Juy' arrival c.d.s. on the reverse. The cover opened roughly and creased, but a fine stamp. The 10c. usage on letters to Europe are EXTREMELY RARE, and it's a very early usage. P. Holcombe opinion.
