1862, letter to Condom, France bearing 5c. brick red with huge margins all round and showing portions of four (!) neighbouring stamps. The stamp covering only the domestic rate from SANTIAGO to the port of embarkation, with British and French "GB/2F87 50/10" tax marking and "12" alongside, French entry markings. There are only a couple of covers known to overseas destinations bearing postage stamps of the first issues as partial frankings.
