Tungkuan, 1896 (ca.), "Tung Kun Local Post", 20 cash pale vermilion (first report in this colour, previously known only in dull light blue) on pale yellow thin wove paper, very fine unused, a very rare example of one of China's most mysterious stamps. Origin and status have never been explained. From a pre-WWII collection.
