1851 'Washington' 12 C. schwarz, waag. paar und drei Einzelmarken auf doppelgewichtigem Brief 1857 nach Linden bei Wolfenbüttel, Braunschweig per "Asia" (Cunard) via London und Aachen, entwertet mit rotem, kreisförmigem Gitterstempel, roter Datumstempel "N. YORK Br. Pkt. 14 PAID May 27" (1857), roter h/s "PAID" sowie roter Kastenstempel "AACHEN 9/6 FRANCO" vorderseitig, Datumstempel von Wolfenbüttel (10. Juni) rückseitig. Die Frankatur von 60 C. entspricht der doppelten Rate nach Deutschland im geschlossenen, preussischen Postsack. Die Marken sind gut gerandet, nur eine Marke links min. angeschnitten, farbfrisch, eine Marke mit Bugspur und die zweite Marke von rechts wurde gelöst und replaziert. Pkt. 14 Paid May 27" (1857) 14¢ double-rate credit datestamp on cover to Linden, Brunswick, Germany--carried on the Cunarder "Asia", departing New York May 27, 1857, arriving Liverpool June 8--red "AACHEN 9/6 FRANCO" (June 9) framed datestamp, blue Wulfenbuttel receiving backstamp (June 10), Very fine cover, rare 12¢ 1851 franking, ex Giamporcaro and Hackmey, with 1991 P.F. certificate
