1869 'Shield & Eagle' 10c. yellowish orange, two singles, used on yellow cover from Cleveland, Ohio to Runkersdorf near Nuernberg in Bavaria via New York, Bremen, Nuernberg and Röttenbach, both tied by mute h/s in blue, "CLEVELAND/MAR/14" c.d.s. in blue, red New York "PAID" and boxed "BREMEN FRANCO 1/4 70" dater in red alongside, further German transit datestamps on the reverse. Envelope with a corner defect at lower left and light traces of use, one adhesive with a missing perf, but still a good cover bearing a scarce franking. (Scott from US$575)
