(2), $20/3 c., $50 on 1/2 C., $50/1 C. and $180/1 C. tied "SHANGHAI 20.5.45" to registered card to Vienna/Austria, posted after end of war in Europe, request for life sign "have none news whatosever since summer of 41" and gives info of making life as musician. Sender Robert Kohner (1920-?56) was of jewish religion and was forced to flee from Austria in 1938. A professional piano player and music teacher and a member of the "Shanghai Municipal Orchestra". In 1947 he emigrated from Shanghai to Australia and was naturalized the same year.- Not many foreign usages of this late surcharge card should exist.
