1852, 40 centesimi black on pale blue ("celeste") with full original gum. Without gum this stamp is a great rarity, this example has an unrivaled quality. The rare "pale blue" colour comes from the first printing of the first issue and almost no unused survived. Sassone 5 (only priced without gum), Scott 5a (only priced without gum), Michel 5 IIb "schwarz auf hellblau", Bolaffi 5 priced with a minimum of 100.000 EUR. Attest Sorani: "the only example we know with full original gum". With Sorani's personal notes. This is one of the few truly unique rarities of the Italian States and in spectacular condition. ÷ 1852, 40 centesimi Schwarz auf Himmelblau ("celeste") mit vollem Originalgummi. Schon ohne Gummi ist diese Marke eine große Rarität, in der hier vorliegenden Qualität ist sie sicherlich unübertroffen. Die seltene himmelblaue Farbe stammt aus der ersten Auflage, von der es fast keine ungebrauchten Exemplare (weniger als 10 bekannt) gibt.
