Der Auktions-Rekord für eine Decaris Zeichnung (Aquarell + Bleistift 50x32 cm) liegt bei 14.000 EUR (in Paris 2006 verkauft). ÷ Albert Decaris (born May 6, 1901 in Sotteville-lès-Rouen; died January 1, 1988 in Paris) was a French artist, engraver, painter and Olympic Gold Medallist. At age 19, Decaris won the Concours de Rome, which was seen as the premiere award among young French artists at the time. He was elected Fellow of The French Académie des Beaux Arts in 1943. Decaris was the first illustrator of luxury art books. In the 1930s, Decaris began carving postal stamps, resulting in more than 500 such vignettes, for various postal services, notably French and African.
