1855 Stampless cover from SMYRNE to Marseilles canc. French P.O. "SMYRNE/2 JUIN 55", with boxed "PAQUEBOTS/DE LA/MEDITERRANÉE" in red and taxed by h/s "10" only on front, and arrival backstamp. Postage rate for single weight letter was 100c. or 10 Décimes for a franked letter, double for unfranked (period 1.7.1854 to 31.12.1856). Thus an insufficiently taxed letter.
