1871 (9 May) "COMMUNE DE PARIS": Folded cover from Paris to Constantinople via Versailles and Marseilles, franked by pair and single of Napoleon 20c. blue tied "VERSEILLES 12 MAI 71", with red boxed "PD" on front, transit and arrival datestamps on the reverse. Minor imperfections as missing corner perf one stamp and vert. folds through cover and one stamp, but A VERY RARE COVER FROM THE "COMMUNE DE PARIS", where the letter was dated '9 May', carried to Versailles by a messenger through the siege ring, posted there and carried via Marseilles and ship mail to Constantinople. Certificates by J. Robineau and Dr. R. Goebel BPP.
