1904 Postal stationery card 1g. blue with native 'Bosta' ovpt. in violet used from Ankober (Addis Abbeba) to Firenze, Italy via British Somaliland and Aden, cancelled "BERBERA SOMALILAND 9 JU 04" cds, uprated India KEVII. ½a. pair optd. "BRITISH/SOMALILAND" tied by circle of bars, with "ADIS ABEBA 10.VII.1902" (error in year) despatch cds, "ZAILA SOMALI-COAST B.O./JU 7/04" and "ADEN/JU 11/04" transit datestamps. A scarce postcard to Europe via the "British route" through Berbera, and a scarce use of British Somaliland stamps on mail from Ethiopia. (Ref. Harmers sale 2008)
