1830's (ca.), folded cover from Buenos Aires to Montevideo, URUGUAY bearing two-liner "BUENOS/AYRES" in red (Kneitschel no.5) and carried on River Plate. (There was no regularly scheduled ship travel up the rivers of the River Plate until the late 1850's. Mail would have to wait until a merchant ship arrived, or until the next packet was scheduled to depart.) A fine and early Buenos Aires-Uruguay cover.
