1913/1940 ca., NEW SOUTH WALES DATESTAMPS ON COMMONWEALTH STAMPS, very comprehensive collection with more than 1800 stamps, comprising a vast and valuable array of mostly different postmarks from places in New South Wales. The collection is sorted by alphabet from A-Z, presenting numerous cancellations from smaller places as well as the different types of datestamps that have been used and exchanged over the years. A minor part of the collection (ca.150 stamps) is presenting the postmarks of Sydney, including post office branches from number 1 to 86 and further specialities, i.a. 'Late Fee', 'Ship Room', various P.O. with street names, cds 'Delivery Room', 'Special', 'Out of Course', 'Parliament House', parcel post and other interesting material.
All postmarks included are at least identifiable and many of them were collected as complete strikes on fragments. A remarkable proportion of rare postmarks should be assumed, therefore a complete depiction of the whole collection (24 pages) will be provided online.
