EGYPT: Islamic commemorative zinc medal for the 100th Anniversary of the death of Mehmet Ali Pasha (1949). Mehmet Ali Pasha was an Albanian commander and administrator in the Ottoman army, and self-declared viceroy in Egypt. He is regarded by some as the founder of modern Egypt. Bust of Mehmet Ali Pasha facing right on obverse. Ships sailing from a harbour defended by cannon and a fruit tree blossoming on reverse. Engraved by Henri Dropsy. Accompanied by certification by NGC about its genuineness. Diameter: 119mm. Weight: 496,6gr. Graded as "MS 63" by NGC.
