1857 5c brown, vertical strip of three, sheet margin at right, scissors cut at left, top stamp with trimmed perforations, on outer FL from New Orleans, used in 1860 to France, with red Boston and boxed "PD", French Le Havre entry pmk tying the top stamps, bottom pair actually uncanceled, except tiny portion of Boston cds on margin only, stamps lifted for inspection (some gum remains) and re-hinged. A fine and unusual cover, with 1972 PFC (an unused single is catalogued $5,500, pair $12,000)
