Rarity: Postal Bond of 100 pi purchased at Medjdil 2.9.1913 pmk (PM3) tying 20 pa Turkish stamp, cashed at Gaza 14.10.1913 pmk (PM5) on back. Postal Bonds were introduced on July 23, 1913 and were payable either to the bearer or to the payee. They were valid for three months and cost 20 pa up to  maximum of 100 pi. 1859 folded letter carried from Jerusalem to Istanbul Inuonu, the letter was sent by Emanuel Mordehai a merchant in Jerusalem to Yanku Pitredi in Istanbul, the letter is written in Judezmo (Ladino) in special Hebrew script (Solitreo), regarding merchandise. The letter was marked by the Tatar courier in manuscript at left "3/20 - 30" - 3 dirhem weight (about 10 gr) charge of 20 pi & 30 para = 830 para, at top right "42" the number on letter in the Tatars' manifest. The distance between Jerusalem and Istanbul was 414 riding hours so the charge is for a registered letter (414 pa regular rate + 100% for registration rounded to 830 pa) but no registration mark is seen on the letter. The letter is cancelled by Beirut Negative Seal pmk "An Jhanib Posta Beirut 257" (coming from the Beirut Post Office 1841 - Collins PP1); f-vf & Rare
