Entire letter at double rate from WINTERTHUR to ALEXANDRETTE (Syria), struck with straight line WINTERTHUR despatch handstamp, thence via Geneva (Jan 5), Marseille and Smyrna (Jan 14) with dotted arrival datestamp on reverse ALEXANDRETTE / SYRIE and charged 18 décimes due. Smudge at lower right where PD in black was applied in error and deleted by a fingerprint. A scarce entire to an unusual destination.
