 Lot 7509 - brit. colonies straits settlements - Corinphila Auction AG Auction 309-320 - Europe & Overseas - Day 61859: East India Company Administration, 2 a. orange and 4 a. black, used on cover, from SINGAPORE (Straits Settlements) to MADRID (Spain), tied by black octagonal, sent 22 March 1865, with red boxed 'PF' alongside and red 'PD' crossed out by hand in black ink, Spanish postage due mark '4R' in red, endorsed top 'Via de Suez Espana', to reverse there are four datestamps (one partial) including a Bordeaux transit (13 May 1865), and Madrid arrival although dates unclear, part of backflap missing, opened right side, apparent wear and faults particularly to edges and soiled, a rare destination from Singapore, very few examples known.
