1868: 18 b. vermilion on extremely yellowed paper, a fine used example with large margins all round, used on 1870 "Retour Recepisa" grey form, tied by neat grill obliterator with fine "TIRGUL-FRUMOS" circular datestamp (April 29) in black at left (Kiriac fig. 414). Closed tear  at left corner of the form but superb and scarce so fine. Ex collection Sassower.

1871: 25 b. brown, a used example with large margins on three sides, just clear at top, used on 1871 entire letter to Orsova tied by "BECHET" circular datestamp (Dec 18) in blue with framed "P.D." alongside, reverse with Alt-Orsova (25/12) arrival cds in black. Postage Due 1869: Entire letter sent unpaid to Bucharest with "T. MAGURELLE" despatch cds (Sept 13) in black (Kiriac fig. 418). Charge to be raised noted in blue crayon "28" and struck with framed "28 BANI" Due marking in black (fig. 1654) with reverse showing "Giugiu" transit cds (Sept 14) and Bucharest cds of arrival. Scarce and attractive entire. Ex collection Sassower.rnrnNote: The unpaid single letter fee of 28 bani was current from 13 January 1868 until 14 October 1870. Single rate of 18 bani + Fine of 10 bani = 28 bani to pay.

1865: Cuza 20 pa. red, a fine large margined example used on 1865 cover to Vienna, neatly tied by "PITESCI" cds (Oct 6) in black (Kiriac fig. 347). Reverse with Romanian Bucharest transit and transferred to Austrian P.O. with "BUCAREST" cds (Oct 8) in black and straight line "PORTO" applied to obverse. Vienna arrival in red and charged "25" kreuzer due to pay upon receipt. A very attractive cover that opens well for Exhibit display and extremely rare. Ex collection Sassower.rn

1871: 5 b. rose and 5 b. vermilion, used xamples, each with four margins, each tied to "Quitanta" value declared form (No. 62) for letters to Berlad, the 5 b. rose tied by fine "GALATI" circular datestamp (8 Sept 1871) in black (Kiriac fig. 499) and the 5 b. vermilion tied by "GALATI / SERA" cds (April 17) in black (Kiriac fig. 458). Small imperfections to the forms but a most attractive pair. Ex collection Sassower.

1879: 50 b. bistre and 1880 25 b. blue used on 1883 registered cover to France tied by "BACAU" cds (March 31), restored badly on obverse, the reverse however with unusual usage of 1880 25 b. blue on "Recipisa de Inapoiare" form still attached to cover by large white seals "ROMANIA OFICIUL POSTAL / Bacau" with town name in manuscripot on each tied by Gisors arrival cds (April 4). The first such example this describer has seen - the advice of receipt obviously never returned.

Postage Due 1872: Paris printing 10 b. blue used on underpaid 1874 cover to Braila, tied by Bucuresti cds in black. Two line italic "AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFICIENTE" and charged with "30 BANI" Due marking in black with weak strike alongside at right (Kiriac fig. 1658). Reverse with Braila arrival cds (July 9) in black. Ex collection Sassower.

1869: 25 b. orange & blue and 15 b. red, two fine and fresh examples with large margins, used on 1869 cover from Ismail to Syra, the adhesives cancelled by ISMAIL datestamp (April 21) in black (Kiriac fig. 401), framed PD alongside, reverse with GALATI transit datestamps. Upon arrival the cover was charged with'20' lepta in red crayon, bearing on top of the PD a Large Hermes Head 20 l. blue, touched on two sides, tied by SYROS cds (April 20, julian). Minor toning, nevertheless a very early usage of the Prince Carol international issue which came into use at the beginning of April 1869, the cover made its journey with high probability via Vienna not via Constantinople. 1872: Paris print 5 b. bistre in a horizontal strip of four, used on 1873 entire letter to Vienna tied by "BUCURESTI" cds's (Nov 10) in black. Seemingly underpaid 5 bani but accepted (probably due to the number of stamps) with "PD" in black at right and Vienna arrival cds (Nov 13) on reverse of a fine and attractive eniire.
