Double Heads 1910/13: £ 1 crimson & slate-black, variety "Imperforate" in an unused vertical pair, positions 44/49, with margins all round and of fine colour, tiny scuff in margin only at base mentioned for full accuracy, fresh and fine, large part og. Probably from a clandestine perf. sheet, nevertheless a magnificent pair - the sole recorded in private hands as the adjoining pair (positions 45/50) resides in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Double Heads 1910/13: 3 d. claret & pale yellow-ochre, perf. 15, an unused block of four, corner marginal from upper right of sheet in this soft delicate shade with some dotting from the claret ink, well centred with sheet number '227' in black, thin in sheet margin at top, otherwise very fresh and fine, large part og. Just two blocks of four are recorded, the other being in the Vestey collection (Spink, March 2015, lot 438). A rarity of the Double Head issues and an exceptional multiple of this rare stamp Gi = £ 16'000+.
