The stamps display their original unaltered state with marginal defects. and are tied by circular date stamp. An arrival ROMA (30 Jan.) in red is on the reverse. PIER D'ARENA. The letter bears a NOVI straight line cachet on the front and a NOVI double circle (29 Jan.) on the reverse, as well as an arrival mark the same date. Oct.): 5c deep blue-green (verde azurro scuro) and 5c. blue-green (verde azurro) provisional Government 1859 issue first print, two horizontal pairs, right hand pair with part adjoining stamps at bottom and only just touched on left on entire letter from PARMA to PADUA. The right pair is tied by the PARMA datestamp (22. Oct. 1859). A tax mark has been applied to the front, a transit MILANO (24. Oct.) and an arrival mark PADOVA (25/10) can be found on the reverse. An immensely beautiful letter of great philatelic importance for the Provisional Government collector, it has been signed by a host of philatelic experts, beginning with Bolaffi, Enzo Diena and others. The letter bears two unclear French transit marks, a RAYON mark "T.S.1." and an arrival ANNONAY (16. Oct.) on the reverse.
