Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'Half / Penny' in vermilion on Great Britain 2½ d. purple on blue, an unused se-tenant vertical pair with Gibbons Type 7 handstamped surcharge in vermilion on first stamp with variety "Surcharge Inverted", lower stamp with Gibbons Type 6 handstamped surcharge 'HALF / PENNY' in vermilion, fresh and very fine, superb large part og. Merest trace of speckles from red blotting paper utilised to store the stamps on large part og. with lower stamp unmounted og. An exceptionally rare and fine multiple. Signed Tommy Allen. Cert. Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'HALF / PENNY' in vermilion on Great Britain 2½ d. purple on blue, an unused example, with Gibbons Type 10 handstamped surcharge in vermilion, of fresh colour, two slightly blunted perforations mentioned for full accuracy only at right, tiny wrinkle and merest trace of speckles from red blotting paper utilised to store the stamps on large part og., which pale into insignificance when one considers that there were only 6 examples issued, one of which is housed in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
