A letter from MONROVIA to a beer exporter in Hamburg is dated 1888 with a German cachet AUS WESTAFRIKA, signed Bothe, two notifications from the German Club in Bangkok, advising members of the arrival of long awited beer deliveries. There are dozens of older postcards mainly German and Swiss as well as older covers from the Americas, frequently being attractive litho print envelopes.  Lot 557 - motive sammlungen/posten motive - Corinphila Auction AG Auction 265th - 273rd - Day 3Arctic & Antarctic 1897/1960c: Lot two picture postcards to Switzerland with motifs of the Andrée expedition (1897) which was a planned balloon journey over the North Pole but which failed and where all three participants died, one postcard has the handwritten notion that this is the last photograph of the balloon which was never seen again. This was true until 1930 when the corpses of the three participants and the photographs shot after their emergency landing were found. In addition five covers from Belgium Antarctic expeditions as well as stamps unused/used from Belgium, Greenland and the French Antarctic territories.
